Mokai |
Mokai, now in its second incarnation under the wing
of the Opium Group, continues on in its prime mission of providing a
festive atmosphere for the exceedingly hip among us.
Maybe it's the DJ's music selection, or maybe it's
the club's location on 23rd Street, but something is definitely
responsible for the floating party that Mokai produces several nights
each week. Once we figure it out, we'll report back.

let let me tell you i waited outside for a good 30
mins and the bouncers where not paying any attention to me or
the girls, then once inside it was over crowded and do not feel
the vibe that i have heard this place should have.

Review:
This was all
hype and no substance - as an open-minded global girl who has
partied in various clubs internationally and can find fun in all
different types of venues - this was rather boring. Homogeny was
king in this club and the "house" music was soulless and
uninspiring.
There was nothing different,
nothing fun, and it lacked the promise of the spicy, sexy South
Beach vibe I found at other places like partying on the
breathtaking rooftop at Gansevoort South Beach or enjoying
tantalizing poetry followed by a sizzling DJ at Santos. Mokai
kind of put me in mind of the parties you can find in the suburbs
of any major city - not offensively bad but tries too hard, then
fails, at being cool.

This place was
well-recommended by a South Beach local. Great music, nice
layout and décor. However, making people wait at the door was a
bit pretentious since there was only a hand-full of people
waiting at the time we arrived. Drinks are overpriced. The staff
was not that friendly as was the crowd.

I had the best
time here! The staff was overly nice, my waitress was very sweet
not the typical south beach attitude. And a plus every time I
have ever been, there has been a celeb there. From Aj from the
Backstreet Boys to George Clooney. Does it get any better!!!!

best people in Miami Beach is there ! I love Mokai, have so much
