Miami Beach visionaries Eric and Frances Milon, who previously established the Living Room
as a glamorous tropical waypoint for east-coast A-listers and European jet-setters in the
early '90s, now present us with a nightclub that has become the prime weekend
destination for the hippest crowd in South Florida. The roofless, open-air nightclub, previously a torrid gay hang called Amnesia, is a natural extension to the adjacent
and wildly successful Opium supper-club, also owned by the Milon brothers. Part dance club,
part lounge, Opium Garden is a place made for enjoying the best South Beach has to offer in the way

Club Opium is
one of the hottest spots in South Beach. Music was great. Crowd
was great. It was a great atmosphere, being from NYC I've been
to a lot of hot clubs. Trust me when say this, none of the clubs
in NYC have anything on Club Opium.

The only way
you will get in anywhere on South Beach is if you are good
looking. So be prepared to wait if you aren't. At least dress up
nice and you might get in. The doormen at this club do pick out
who they want to let in, but they don't really wait to do there
picks, so me and my friend pretty much got right in. Once inside
this club was great, I loved the atmosphere, and the fact that
it was outside. The DJ was pretty lame, didn't play great music,
but still had a great time. Timberlake was in the house at the
time, we went up to VIP where he was so that was pretty cool,
I'd recommend this club to people for sure.

Two of my best
friends (hot Russian girls I must say) came to visit me last
spring from Philly. I got my boyfriend and 2 of his buddies to
take us out and get 2 bottles. We are all students but we work
in the business as well. Somehow we did not get wrist bands, and
the waitress could not help. So my friend and I tried to go
upfront and ask for them. No body could help, their argument was
that the waitress should have given them to us. We tried to go
back to the VIP but now the security guy would not let us back
in w/out wristbands!! How ridiculous is that?! He asked us to
pay him 30$ to go back in!! I swore to never go back to Opium
again. I live here so I am the reason they have business in the
off season. They should treat ppl with more respect.

I love Opium!!
The atmosphere is amazing. I have VIP status and have been going
for well over 4 years. The staff is decent, not rude at all. The
drinks are good. Upstairs in the hip hop section is excellent
(kudos to the DJ). Downstairs is nice as well. Over all, it's a
beautiful club with wonderful music and I love it. I highly
recommend it!

you are with a group, table service is the way to go. While
drinks are $18 you can get a bottle for $300. Had a great time,

Getting into
this club is no small feat. If you're not there by 11:30pm
expect a hassle getting into this establishment. The doormen
literally pick who gets in and who doesn't. The good news is the
doormen do take bribes. I personally witnessed a guy asking the
doorman about gaining entry into the club. The doorman told him
they were only letting in people with table reservations. After
the guy voiced how unfair that was the doorman simply said "well
what are you going to do for me?" The guy handed him a fresh
crisp $50. The doorman discreetly dropped the bill into his coat
pocket and let the guy in....and the guy still had to pay the
$20 cover charge. Luckily my entourage consisted of females and
we were all dressed to the nine. We got in without the use of
bribes and only had to pay the cover charge. Fellas, it really
helps if you have a pretty girl or two with you...if it's just
you and your best buddy be prepared to drop some dollars. Once
inside the open-air club was top notch. Main dance floor was
techno/pop/dance music. The upper VIP rooms spin hip-hop.
I really liked the club but the DJ's were just alright.

Myself, my
wife and another couple went to Opium Garden on a Saturday
night. We tried on the previous night, but the lines were long
the whole hand picking thing was just wrong. So we went back to
the hotel, made a few phone calls and went back to the club the
next night, dropped some names and got in for free and waited a
total of 2 minutes. I hate that we had to do that, but I am
impatient and will not wait like a dog to be picked by oversized
males that make 5 dollars an hour. Once inside, the decor was
nice, staff was rude, people were fake, but overall I had a nice
time. The music was ok, but there was some variety, not the same
things you here at every club. Make sure you bring some money,
drinks are extremely expensive.

We went
Fridays @ Opium Garden. There was a
big line in front. We had 2 wait about 3o minutes to come in.
The door price was 20 dollar each. The
music was not so good...pop music and not hip or trendy music.
The DJ sucks! We thought Opium Garden
was a trendy club, but we felt it was more a school party. Not
hip at all! We are definitely not
coming back 2 Opium Garden!

Once we
finally got in past the rude doormen, it felt like I stepped
into another world. Don't let the outside deceive you, the
inside is enormous and the decor is extraordinary. The vibe
there is very energetic. We were dancing until 4:30 am and I
could have kept going until sunrise. Just don't plan on buying a
lot of drinks. They are insanely overpriced. But overall it was
an amazing experience.

I liked Opium
Garden, the music was good and decor was great. It was a bit HOT
inside though. I thought some A/C could have been on, at least,
it felt extremely humid inside.
Though I didn't have to wait, the
whole picking people to come inside is so passe. Take the
people's money and let them in.

Wow, did this
place suck. 1st: Don't believe the
guy on Ocean Drive that comes up to
you saying that the bracelet he hands you means no wait and $10
cover. Both lies. Our wait with the special bracelet was 20
minutes after we were hand-selected by some very rude and
unfriendly punk staff outside.
Then we were told there was no
half price cover, that it was $20 entry. That was my biggest
mistake of the night - paying $20 for that dump. Cool design,
but everything else was downhill. The drinks were overpriced
but we expected that, the music sucked (AC/DC? Pat Benetar?
Baby Got Back?? - worst DJ EVER), and
terrible attitude from the people and inside staff.
Almost
everyone there was rude and fake. We were there for 2 hours and
couldn't take anymore. What a
letdown... I think next time I'd rather take a dump than go
back to Opium Garden.

The vibe at
club Opium Garden was so live I loved
it, The only thing I
disliked was they finally did
closed, I would have stay even later.
Opium Garden was not what I expected
because some clubs in New Orleans are
a little smaller, it was way better
because it's so big. I recommend every
person that loves to go to clubs to
visit Opium Garden,
they get 5 stars. I didn't have
any problems with the price, I would
have paid double, honestly, if
I knew it was going to be a good night
for me...thanks a
lot. It was the best place to
visit for my first time in Miami. Every
time we return, they are going
to see Da Goonz.
I recommend every one to visit Opium
Garden because it's a story waiting to be told.

Being that I
was visiting from New York, the music was a bit outdated ...but
the vibe was still pretty good. To all the clubs in Miami,

I got there
around midnight - solo. Though there was a line, I was happy
that the stylish bouncer was feeling my cool vibe and let me in
right away. It's harder for guys to get into clubs, especially
when they are not with hot women.
You can tell that OG is a destination for the local "fab Crowd"
It did not feel pretentious like clubs on the North end of SB.
It was a Big Ticket Venue.....but only $20 Gotta luv that!
