Maybe it's the 8-foot elephant tusks curving
suggestively skyward that set the tone at the Opium Group's new club
on Lincoln Road. Then again, it could be the lingerie-clad (barely)
dancers encased in plexi-glass cylinders, or the svelte young ladies
grooving atop macassar ebony tables that let you know you've entered
a different sort nightlife venue. Either way, you quickly get the
message that no expense was spared to produce a club where über-VIPs
languish in luxury surrounded by those sleek physiques
South Beach is famous for. A dance
club?...um...not really. More like the best that South Beach nightlife
has to offer rolled-up into one excellent club. |

Wow!
The best light and sound system ever! went with 9 people
and spent $1800. If your broke don't go to this club cause it
will cost you! But well worth it for the experience! Staff was
friendly no problems! I'd do it again!

After a night
of club-hopping we landed at Set about 1am. The crowd was
great, the décor eye-popping, the music infectious but a bit
monotonous after a while. We found the staff to be very
attentive but the drinks very overpriced and short on alcohol.
Best to go in a group and enjoy a bottle or two for maximum
effect....but you'll pay for it. Get on the list and avoid the
pretentious velvet ropes or dress to kill. This place is unique
and classy and I would go again with a large group.

The ambiance
was nice for the first few minutes upon arrival. But I would
not revisit the club.

Great
décorations if you like antiquity (like I do); though most of
the furnishings looked frayed or worn. A bit gaudy; the social
atmosphere mirrored a stripclub with loud, pulsing trip hop
music. A lot of clubbers (or were they hired help?) were
scantily dressed with tattoos, even some of the guys!. The
bouncers and the bartenders were stuck-up and rude. The drinks
were overpriced with virtually no alcohol in them. I heard
about this club once from a friend so I visited the club. I
would call the experience an eccentric curiosity but one I do
not intend to revisit.

This
is one gorgeous club! We were expecting an "upscale"
place, but I have to say that we were stunned when we walked in.
The Lincoln Road location is excellent due to its closeness to
our hotel (The Sagamore). We left the club just before 5AM and
walked two blocks to the beach and watched the sun come up. Very
cool night!
