Tantra, a stylish restaurant-lounge based on the ancient Tantric principles of self-awareness and spiritual realization through invocation of the senses. At Tantra, a true South Beach landmark, the senses are stimulated in every
possible way, from the superb food to the stunning décor, to the pulsating music and erotic art.
The restaurant's soothing, romantic ambience has been lovingly created from the elements of earth (a grass
floor in the VIP lounge), fire (candles), sky (a fiber optic-lit ceiling featuring a shooting star) and water (a dramatic water wall in the entrance foyer).
Other nice flourishes include the movie "Kama Sutra" screening in the main dining room, giant Hookah pipes for after-dinner enjoyment of fine Middle Eastern tobacco, and a spacious, comfortable hammock that hangs from the ceiling of a private dining room.
But, all those soothing elements
depart around 11pm when the line forms at the front door and Tantra
becomes one of the hottest places to be in South Beach. Monday nights at
Tantra are legendary.

I travel to
South Beach quite often and have been to almost all the clubs.
I will never go back to Tantra again!!! First of all, the
bouncer is a front door nazi. The Ritz-Carlton called and had
us put on the list and the bouncer didn't care...he said we were
15 minutes too late. Then he tried to charge us different
prices to let us in....and he was ...[edited].... When we
finally did get in, you couldn't even move. And even if you do
get table service, you get seated in a crappy room away from the
dancing. There is a VIP bottle service that starts at about
$2000 and that's probably the only way to enjoy this club. Not
worth it! Go to Privé, Opium, SET, Mansion, Shore Club, or
anywhere else for a much better time, more room to dance, and
about $1400 less for bottle service at a prime table.

We had a great
time at Tantra! The music was awesome! It made me want to get up
and dance while I was eating dinner. Which was also fabulous!
Have the lobster with risotto, it is well worth the extra money.
Also try the oysters and the tuna tartar. My favorite drink was
the MoonLight Martini. The servers aren't the brightest or the
fastest with clean-up and such but they are very sweet and of
course hot. My boyfriend and I had a great time and will return
again! Thanks Tantra!

Tantra was
okay. If you're looking for a deep
house club, Tantra is definitely the place to visit!!!
The décor inside was quite exquisite,
but the people were just okay.
I'm used to Philly
people where they actually like to dance and have a good time,
not sit there and rave like crazy!!!!! Mansion
was a long wait. Get
drinks in your hotel, cute liquor
store on 25th street and Collins Avenue.
Worth it? We
paid almost $50 for 3 people to get into
Tantra and we spent no
money on drinks!!!!!!!
