For a strip of land that only occupies one-and-a-half square miles, South Beach has everything the haute partier could ask for: Mega clubs, sexy lounges, chic restaurants and those oh-so beautiful people, not to mention one of the best beaches in the world.

South Beach with it’s Euro-chic-meets-Latin vibe never misses an occasion to party. Whether your passion be salsa, hip hop, reggae or trance, South Beach has it covered.

Coming to South Beach from the North East two years ago, I’ve now fully embrace Miami’s riveting culture for all it’s worth by throwing myself into the nightlife scene at every opportunity. It’s because of this total emersion into all-things-South Beach that this column exists, and week by week, you’ll get a glimpse of my life as I journey through the party scene in this sexy little town. Ready?

Although Memorial Day marked the end of a busy season, which began back in November with the Thanksgiving Holiday, there are no less reasons to party. Locals know that this is our time to take back the beach. Now that the snowbirds have vacated our restaurants and beaches, we can come out and play without the normal high-season hassle. We’re now free to dine without reservations, catch a cab when we need one, and not wait quite so long to get into the best spots in town. Yet, high season may have subsided somewhat for the summer months going out with a bang when Black Beach Week came to a close, being that this is Miami Beach, the parties just keep on coming.
