Celebrating La Dolce Vita, the Italian Film
Festival promotes the films
and culture of Italy in South Florida with an exciting series of full
length features and short films screened at the Regal Cinema South
Beach. Dedicated to breaking the boundaries of traditional cinema
culture, the festival touches on Italian image, design and style. In
addition to nightly film presentations, guests can meet and mingle with
Italian and local cineastes at nightly after parties at SET, Louis,
Mansion and Mokai nightclubs all week long.
Parties promoting the festival kick off in early September with
Fashion's Night Out at the Bal Harbour Mall (September 8), a Tribute to
Director Michaelangelo Antonioni at the historic Tower Theater in Little
Havana (September 22), and the monthly Spaghetti and Cinema Dinner
Series at Puntino Restaurant (September 29). A second Tribute to
Antonioni kicks off festival week when the Miami Beach Cinematheque
screens the film "Il Deserto Rosso" starring Monica Vitti and Richard
Harris on October 5th at 1130 Washington Avenue in South Beach.
Once the final line up of this year's films has been announced, tickets
for each screening will be available online and also at the Regal Cinema
South Beach box office on the day of the show. The Regal Cinema is
located at the western edge of Lincoln Road Mall (1120 Lincoln Road).
Each ticket holder will be given a card upon entering the theater to
provide feedback about the presentation. Audience votes are based upon
artistic value, technical performance of the actors, director and
screenwriters and the overall entertainment value of the final product.
At the closing night screening party at South Beach's Smith & Wollensky
steakhouse, guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner and the announcement of
the festival's award winning films.
