February in Miami is a whirlwind of events which
makes scoring a hotel room, a rental car or a table reservation for a
great restaurant a really big deal once the Miami International
Boat Show rolls into Miami Beach on February 16, 2012. With three separate locations
in Miami and Miami Beach - the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Sea
Isle Marina and Miamarina at Bayside Marketplace — the show attracts
thousands of spectators, 2000 exhibitors and over 3000 boats!
The 5 day event is a treat for serious boaters and
curious landlubbers who can get up close and personal with the latest
powerboats, sleek sailboats, celebrity-style yachts and all the
electronics and nautical accessories that go along with them. Beyond the
actual watercraft, the show features informative seminars on sport
fishing, water safety, SCUBA diving and travel. The Big Game Room Sport
Fishing Expo inside the convention center is designed for the trophy
fishing enthusiast with special guest appearances by TVs shark hunters
from "Expedition Great White" and members of the cast of "Deadliest
Catch."
Sailors gravitate to the marinas in Downtown Miami
where the Strictly Sail show focuses on sailboats, sailing gear and
accessories. Guests can attend daily sailing seminars, enjoy free
sailboat rides and programs designed to teach children about boats and
boat building. Dedicated shuttle busses and water taxis are available at
all three sites to make it easy to navigate Miami's busy streets and see
all the show sites without the hassle of finding a place to park.
Tickets can be purchased online or at the show gates and include free
access to all exhibits and shuttles. Group discounts are available and
kids 15 and under get in free.
