The Health Crisis Network of South Florida sponsors
WHITE PARTY WEEK
each November in its continuing efforts to fund HIV/AIDS research and
patient care through Care Resources of South Florida. Started in 1985,
this fundraiser is one of the most important community endeavors and the
highlight of the LGBT social season. For one special night, party goers
break out their best all white attire and join together to celebrate,
commemorate and demonstrate solidarity in a gesture that is
non-political and infinitely positive.
For nearly 25 years the Villa Vizcaya Museum & Gardens provided the
elegant backdrop for this unique event. As the notion of White Party
evolved, dozens of smaller satellite parties and fund raising efforts
around South Florida have allowed the LGBT men and women who support
Care Resources to meet and mingle in the Florida sun with all proceeds
going toward this very worthwhile cause. Care Resources promotes
education, prevention, research, care and treatment for the South
Florida community affected by HIV/AIDS. Dedicated to providing an
improved quality of life for every member of this diverse population,
Care Resources is the city's oldest and largest service organization.
Guests interested in attending White Party Week are encouraged to check
out the official website to read about ticket sales for all of the
satellite parties as many events sell out well in advance. The week's
gala circuit kicks off with a welcome cocktail party and continues at
venues all over town including a Macy's shopping party, splashy hotel
pool parties, dedicated men's and women's nightclub events and even a
highly competitive tea dance bowling competition at Lucky Strike Lanes
on Lincoln Road Mall! South Florida locals interested in volunteering
for hosting opportunities during White Party Week can do so at the
official website.
