In South Beach there is a grand divide between the newer hyper-chic hotels and the rundown motels of days past, but somehow the Hotel Nash finds a happy medium mixing quiet sophistication with a healthy helping of substance. After an $11 million renovation, the hotel boasts a therapeutic ambiance usually reserved for day spas. There is an indoor garden complete with jasmine, bougainvillea, star anise and cypress. Through a set of French doors off the main terrace there are three tiny, yet intimate, pools - one freshwater, one saltwater and the last mineral. Guest rooms are simple - décorated in pale green and ivory - but elegant, and overlook either the city or the fabled Versace mansion. Amenities include French linens, plush robes and marble bathrooms with rain showerheads. If it's celebrity gawking that floats your boat you're going to have to look elsewhere. In fact, this boutique hotel is not even on the hipster radar as far as being seen on the scene goes. But, if you are looking to get a little R&R in Miami, the Hotel Nash is sure to be your home away from home. |
