Art Deco Weekend 2008

Art Deco Weekend is scheduled for January 18-20, 2008 and will feature Broadway musicals of the 1930s and 40s where brilliant designers introduced America to an innovative art form called Art Deco/Streamline Moderne.

ADW 2008 will also pay a special tribute to former Miami Beach resident George Abbott, a legendary showman who wrote, directed and produced so many memorable Broadway plays such as The Pajama Game and Damn Yankees.

Art Deco Weekend is a production of the Miami Design Preservation League, a non-profit organization devoted to preserving the architectural integrity of the City of Miami Beach through historic preservation. MDPL was created by Barbara Capitman in 1976 and is the oldest Art Deco Society in the world.
