Texas de Brazil Opening at the Miami Beach Marina
Texas de Brazil will open a new location at the Miami Beach Marina, 300 Alton Road, during December 2007. The 30,000 square-foot restaurant seats 750, most with ocean views. It encompasses a sushi bar, a 700 bottle wine collection including rare vintages, a cigar humidor, an outdoor patio facing the bay, and a private ballroom that can accommodate up to 250 guests for private parties. The new Texas de Brazil location also includes the Beijos Lounge. Beijos, which means “kisses” in Portuguese, will feature an upscale bar and a lounge atmosphere with specialty cocktails and signature furniture imported from Bali, for an exotic experience.
The Texas de Brazil concept, which has garnered numerous food and wine awards, features a fixed-price menu, which includes a 100-item salad bar with lobster bisque, made-to-order sushi, marinated vegetables, fresh greens, aged cheeses, freshly made in-house salad dressings, and hot and cold specialty items all more than substantial enough to serve as a stand-alone meal. The main attraction is a continuous parade of prime cuts of meat, slow roasted and served tableside by a troop of roaming gaucho-clad carvers. Prime cuts of filet mignon, parmesan pork loin, chicken breast wrapped in bacon, hearty flank cut, roasted leg of lamb, seared top sirloin, Brazilian sausage, and the house specialty picanha, among many others, are served from large sword-like skewers. They are accompanied by popular Brazilian side dishes including warm cheese rolls, garlic mashed potatoes, and perfectly fried sweet bananas.
The wine list, recently cited as one of the best in the country by Wine Spectator magazine, is offered by the glass or bottle service along with their famed caipirinhas. Desserts include Brazilian cheesecake, Key Lime pie, papaya cream and chocolate mousse cake. The full dinner is $44.99 per person, while a light dinner (salad area only) option is available for $29.99. Desserts, beverages, a la carte items, tax and gratuity are additional.
The restaurant design features an octagonal shaped wine cabinet at the entrance, a soaring ceiling with rustic iron chandeliers, Brazilian cherry wood floors and sand stone accents.
