Grilling & Chilling Guide for the 4th of July | Summer in the City

Acqualina ResortOur extended coverage of the holiday weekend continues with some pretty upscale eats to help you celebrate in style. It’s the Grilling & Chilling Guide for the 4th of July in South Beach.

John Suley, the hot new chef at the Hotel Astor’s Joley Restaurant will be setting out a tasty spread on the hotel patio at 8pm including BBQ Chicken, BBQ Brisket and hot-to-trot jalapeño corn bread. All-American desserts include berry shortcake, apple-pie and grandma’s peach cobbler, all for just $25 per person. Guests who show up in red, white and blue also get a free drink, so show your colors and enjoy the party! Dewey and Dale LoSasso are regulars to the Friday night BBQ scene but have upped their game for the 4th with stonecrab hot dogs, Maine lobster and a bunch of spicy BBQ treats. Because this is a family-friendly event, flip-flops and shorts are welcome (just this once) at North One 10. Entrees are served family style and also include habanero chicken wings, Cuban bread short rib sloppy joes, and lamb spare ribs. Grab the kids and celebrate starting at 5:30pm for $48 per adult (including beer) and $22 for children under 12.

The folks in Bal Harbour like things a bit more upscale and the brand new Regent Hotel is hosting a $65 Aqua Soleil Independence Day Barbecue on the 4th from noon-7 p.m.and another gathering in the evening until 11pm. The View Bar Clambake Buffet is $75 per person. During the day a DJ will spin and at night, a live band will play. Dinner overlooks the Haulover inlet fireworks. Reservations are strongly suggested. In Sunny Isles, the Acqualina Resort hosts an all day extravaganza of food, fashion and fun. The 4th of July BBQ features fashions by designer Carlos Miele, live Mediterranean music, specialty cocktails and gourmet BBQ favorites including St. Louis ribs, hamburgers grilled to order, grilled chicken wings, grilled mahi mahi, a pasta bar from Il Mulino, and an array of desserts for $55 per person.
