ThanksGiving in Florida | Mark Militello is Back…

militello.jpgSouth Florida foodies were surprised and disappointed when veteran chef and James Beard award winner Mark Militello announced quite suddenly that his namesake restaurants would cease operations in May. After a long and successful run, the popular dining rooms in South Beach, Las Olas, City Place and Boca Raton were closed following a parting of the ways with financial backers.

The good news - and yet another reason to be thankful this season - is that Chef Mark is the new executive chef at the Regent Bal Harbour and will craft a spectacular Thanksgiving Feast in celebration of his new post. If there are still reservations available, lucky guests will gather on November 27 from noon to 8pm for a selection of starters including a foie gras terrine, pumpkin and squash bisque, an array of salads and stone crabs, a carving station with turkey, stuffed pork loin, New York sirloin steak, roast venison, and salmon too. There will be a pasta station, a selection of traditional side dishes with root veggies and stuffing, a cheese course and nearly twenty different desserts.

Militello will oversee all culinary operations at the brand new luxury hotel including the 1 Bleu fine-dining restaurant, the dazzling View Bar, plus the spa, catering and room service. The Regent Bal Harbour is located at 10295 Collins Avenue. Reservations for the dining room and the Thanksgiving buffet can be booked by calling 305-455-5460.
