FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach 2009
Funkshion – Fashion Week Miami Beach celebrates its 12th season later this month! The state of the art fashion tents will be built on the sand at 11th Street and Ocean Drive in Lummus Park in Miami Beach. The venue will feature two unique structures with a large court yard for sponsor activations in the center of it all. Other locations will include the Setai Hotel, among other venues.
FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach will open on March 25th with a very special collection of eco-friendly and eco-fabulous designers brought together by GreenFashionMiami.org
On Wednesday, March 25th 2009; we will be celebrating the first Green Fashion Show in the city of Miami Beach. The models for the GREEN FASHION MIAMI runway shows will all be contestants and title holders from different pageants such as Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss Intercontinental and Miss Latina International. The show will be the official kick-off event for FUNKSHION: Fashion Week Miami Beach. Top designers from Latin America and the United States, will be presenting a collection made of recycled, eco-friendly and sustainable materials. The event is proud to announce our “Environmentalist of the year” award presented by Green Fashion Miami.
Other highlights of this year’s FUNKSHION will include the launch of singer T.I.’s new line; Little Louie Vega’s launch for his new line; Gen-Art will present Krelwear and CURVE will be presenting a mixed collection runway show of designers from around the world – Fresh from Paris Fashion Week – These collections have not yet been seen in the United States.
