W South Beach Progressing
It looks like work on the W South Beach project is finally proceeding along at a good clip with construction on the third level in now underway. Could this be signaling the end of Miami’s real estate bust? (And then he awoke…)
We’ll be interested to see what changes come to the 23rd Street/Collins Avenue area as a result of the W, the Gansevoort South Hotel, and the numerous fame-name restaurants all moving into the neighborhood. An Opium Group lounge atop the Gansevoort should spark some A-list excitement and the success of Mokai plus persistent rumours of another high-profile lounge within the W makes us wonder just how far north the scene will migrate.
