Miami Swim Show - Parke & Ronen Disco Marrakech 2008 Collection

On Saturday, July 14, 2007, the New York-based design team Parke & Ronen showcased their 2008 spring collection entitled Disco Marrakech on the closing night of the week-long Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Miami Swim Collections 2008. Parke & Ronen Spring 2008 made its debut down a sandy runway in the Oasis at the historic Raleigh hotel, located on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.
The fashionable crowd rocked to up-tempo beats as delicious male models strutted their stuff down the runway in colorful, sexy outfits put together by design-duo, Parke Lutter and Ronen Jehezkel. The collection’s theme was Disco Marrakech, which combined the rough hewn, undiscovered Bedouin art of the Berbers and other local nomadic tribal people of Sahara, with the idea of Marrakech as a playground for the sexy and glamorous and came up with a Euro-glam disco collection with an oriental flare. The season’s collection was filled with desert brights: spicy reds and oranges, sunset pinks and sunrise yellows, on a foundation of organic summer neutrals like khaki, olive and espresso and highlighted by clear, oasis turquoise and aqua. Guests received fabulous bronze Parke & Ronen bags with a pair of stylish Parke & Ronen flip flops, a guest pass to Equinox Fitness Clubs and a yummy hair product from Yuki Sharoni, the hairstylists for the show.
A veritable who’s who of celebrities, socialites and industry VIP’s, toasted the new line including: Latin pop recording artist, Ana Christina; stylist and fashion critic, Robert Verdi; and host of Full Frontal Fashion James Aguiar. After the show, designers Parke & Ronen had an intimate dinner with friends at Social Miami at the Sagamore Hotel. Afterwards, the celebration moved to Vice, where Parke & Ronen and James Aguiar co-hosted the festivities that lasted until the early hours of the morning. Basketball star, Dennis Rodman, Miami’s fabulous Elaine Lancaster and the host of WSVN’s Deco Drive, Louis Aguirre, attended the amazing afterparty at Vice.
Loved by celebrities Heath Ledger and Andres Balazs and fellow designers, Calvin Klein and Todd Oldham, Parke & Ronen has grown to be a pioneer in the men’s swimwear world and a leader in its industry since its conception in June 1997. Parke & Ronen has created a name for itself by reinventing the 60’s style men’s swim short with the creation of their signature snap short.
With refined details, quality fabrics and an exquisite fit, the Parke & Ronen collection is the answer to the modern-day man’s quest to dress trendy and chic, yet without falling victim to extreme looks. Parke & Ronen has created a clothing line that is contemporary, clean, fashionable and most importantly, accessible to real people in any age group or market.
