8th & Ocean on MTV
Irene Marie Management Group announced that 8th & Ocean, a reality TV show based on the lives and loves of 10 Irene Marie models in South Beach, will premiere on March 7 at 10:30 PM ET/PT on MTV.
Irene Marie, a leading force in fashion and talent management, was selected as the agency of choice for the backdrop of MTV’s new genre-bending series. Approached by MTV, Irene Marie was the top candidate for the series based on her international success and vision in choosing the hottest new faces.
One such success story includes Nikki Taylor. Irene Marie discovered the then 14-year old and under her trained eye and skillful management, Taylor skyrocketed to national and international fame, at the time appearing on more magazine covers than anyone else her age. Other successful launches include those of Cindy Taylor formerly of E! Entertainment’s Wild On, as well as Garcelle Beuavais-Nilon from the blockbuster movie Barbershop 2: Back in Business. Irene Marie has also represented TV stars Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje of Lost, Shemar Moore of Criminal Minds, David Fumero of One Life to Live, and Galen Gerring of Passions. Kimora Lee Simmons, model and mastermind behind the Baby Phat empire, has also been represented by Irene Marie.

From the team behind MTV’s Laguna Beach, 8th & Ocean will capture the real lives of the cast but will have the look and feel of a scripted drama. Telling the story of 10 young male and female Irene Marie models living together in a beachfront model apartment complex while enduring the cut-throat world of fashion, this reality drama is shot in the style of a narrative film, but with an indie edge. Irene Marie worked directly with MTV from the show’s inception and was intimately involved in the casting process.
Every year thousands of potential models converge on the sun-drenched, bikini-clad town of South Beach, Miami with the hopes of making it big. Drama unfolds when competitive and interpersonal relationships heat up as these aspiring models hustle off to casting calls, sexy photo shoots and client go-sees while enjoying the seductive South Beach scene.
