Oyuki Boutique: Miami’s Mecca for Fashion

oyuki1.jpgAt Oyuki, it’s all about what’s hanging on the racks. The 1,400 square feet boutique carries a mix of merchandise that Miami has never seen, targeted to the women that look for exceptional designs, high exclusivity, and distinctive style. You can find woven plaid dresses from James Coviello, butter-soft tops by Bella Jones, Italian-famous denim from Phard, and a large selection of worldly designers that are impossible to find anywhere else in town. Oyuki is also an accessories wonderland; chunky bracelets and necklaces handmade of resin and copper by Muzeum Creations, Swarovski encrusted wearable art by Maria R, and canvas convertible handbags by Karine Dupont are just some of the unique items they carry.

The store is owned by Joyce Chehebar, a fashion forward entrepreneur with a vision for outstanding design. Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela she has always known that her passion for style was a lifetime ambition. Growing up, she had the opportunity to travel to the globe, visiting the fashion capitals of the world. She later became a stylist for TV personalities and finally started designing her own line of accessories. Her approach to fashion is distinct in each of the pieces she carefully selects from each and every designer she closely works with. She travels all over Europe to personally meet with the designers and hand-pick everything that will be featured in her store for the upcoming season.

Named after a slang word Joyce and her friends invented as children, “oyuki” became their syntax for anything that was cool or hip. In this context – the store is completely defined by its name. It is a mecca of cool and hip merchandise housed in a contemporary and feminine infrastructure. The boutique is a reconverted house which contains lacquered white modern shelves and fixtures that are combined with original antique armoires and vanities. Wide plank hardwood floors in a vintage white wash compliment the gallery white walls. The finishing touch is a bright pink back wall with a big silver sign that reads OYUKI.

Oyuki is located at 7419 Biscayne Blvd, in Miami. They are open from Sunday through Thursday from 11:00am to 9:00pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00am to 10:00pm. The phone number is 305.403.1500.
