Gerry Kelly’s Miami Birthday Bash

gerry1a.jpgNightlife impresario Gerry Kelly celebrated his birthday last Saturday night at The Fifth nightclub in Miami Beach with a few thousand of his closest friends and a cast of characters straight out of the 17th century.

The evening’s entertainment included stage shows, stilt-artists, and an operatic performance by Persia as she was surrounded by a host of masked mimes.

Kelly is a native of Ireland who lived in Ibiza for seven years and managed such clubs as Pacha before coming to South Beach fifteen years ago and applying his magic touch to top tier clubs like Bash and Shadow Lounge.

He then joined forces with Chris Paciello and Ingrid Casares as marketing director of the notorious BarRoom during the peak of its popularity before becoming a partner in the creation of Level which became Miami Beach’s largest nightclub. Level was noted for its flamboyant demeanor that included fashion shows, live performances and memorable in-house stage productions such as the night gender-illusionist Elaine Lancaster descended from the ceiling to the stage sitting in a swing.

For the last few years Kelly has partnered with Toronto nightclub owner Oliver Geddes to produce The Fifth on 5th and Lenox Avenue in South Beach, a club where the decor emulates a high-end Manhattan penthouse. Geddes is also the owner of This is London Social Club and Money Club.
