Limoncello Happy Hour Fridays at The Tides | On Our Radar
Limoncello is a popular Southern Italian “digestivo” - a rustic after dinner liqueur made with lemon zest, grain alcohol, sugar and water. Served frosty cold, it is bright yellow, super sweet and will stop your clock if not consumed in moderation!
We consider it the perfect summertime sip…
The defining moment for the hottest new cocktail in town can be credited to actor Danny DeVito’s sloshy appearance on “The View” chat show when he attributed his intoxicated state to “the last seven limoncellos” he consumed with George Clooney the night before. Replays of his performance circled the globe via YouTube sparking interest in the devilish drink. DeVito turned lemons into millions when he launched his own limoncello line shortly thereafter.
South Beach rides the wave of this lemon sensation at La Marea at the Tides Hotel where Chef-to-the-Stars Pietro Rota has been experimenting with Limoncello popsicles he drops into a blend of rum and pineapple juice to create his newest signature cocktail. The drink is such a hit, he’s made every Friday night Limoncello Happy Hour from 5-9pm!
Join those in the know and sip this new frozen delight poolside or out on the terrace overlooking Ocean Drive. Your drink arrives with the chef’s free tapas sampler platter for just $8. Beer and wine are also a breezy $5 during this TGIFriday summertime event.
We’ll see you there!

Limoncello popsicles? Limoncello, when made properly, doesn’t freeze at normal freezer temps.
