Laundry Bar is All Washed Up | On Our Radar
Rumors from clubland have it that Juan Loumiet, owner of the laundromat-meets-nightclub concept, Laundry Bar will run his final rinse cycle on Sunday August 31. One of South Beach’s favorite alternative hideouts has run it’s last load and will be closed until a scheduled re-launch (without the industrial washers and dryers) in mid-September.
Popular with the local gay community, the kitchy bar is a popular destination for boozy karaoke nights and electronic dance music performances by Skream, Stretch Armstrong, Planet of the Drums, Ralph Falcon, and Christian Martin.
While the new club format is still top secret, we’ve heard that DJs Nikola Baytala and Michael Louis are on deck for the closing night party. Luckily, there is still time to roll your hair in curlers and bring those fine washables to the Laundry Bar for some good clean fun before last call.
The Laundry Bar is located at 721 Lincoln Lane and will continue spinning until Sunday August 31. Reopening dates are subject to change. For info – thelaundrybar.com
