Noches de Nostalgia | Summer in the City
Thursday nights have always been our official kick off to the weekend and we’re thrilled to report that the folks at the Ritz Carlton on sleepy Key Biscayne have upped the ante on our Friday morning hangover with an extended happy hour at the naughty-but-nice RumBar! Can you say Babaloo Aiye!?
For newbies to the Miami cocktail scene, RumBar is a destination for enthusiasts of their 52 boutique rums, cachacas, and piscos from 18 different countries. Yes - dropping the names of designer tequilas and obscure sakes is SO last week! Trend-seeking drinkers groove to the sounds of house band “Groupo Nostalgia” who perform Cuban classics in white dinner jackets and bow ties. Check out these modern Ricky Ricardos and you’ll see why I Love Lucy reruns are still so popular in South Florida!
If you think you can hang with the big dogs, the party starts at 6pm and rambles on until midnight. Rum cocktails at a delicious $6 a pop are paired with free tropical nibbles and a crowd that’s drawn to the nostalgia of Havana in the 1950s. Break out your best guayabera and pop a few stogies in your pockets and you’re Ready to Rumba!
Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne is located at 455 Grand Bay Drive, 305-365-4500
