South Beach gay bars drifted toward the gritty until Halo opened it’s doors and let the sunshine in. This swank and sexy upscale lounge space just off Lincoln Road feels WAY more mainstream than the second level of Twist or the dark reaches of Boi Bar, so we were thrilled to hear that South Beach Diva Shelley Novak has started a weekly bingo night on Wednesdays to usher in the era of Gay Hipster Gaming!
If you find yourself out and about mid-week and fancy a little drunken debauchery, the boys play bingo from 8-10pm while swilling 2 for 1 drinks and checking out Shelley’s newest sparkling frock. Fun prizes were supplied last week by New Concept Video.
Just remember, when Shelley calls out, “O - 69,” everyone has to do a shot!

Publix hosts Gay Grocery Grab
Local blogger Matthew Tumbleson promotes “gaycentric” events in South Florida including a brand new idea for anyone hungry for love - Gay Grocery Nights! South Beach’s notorious post-modern Publix Supermarket already has a reputation for attracting some of the most appealing shoppers in the City Beautiful and now the official word is that Monday nights are hereby “Gay Grocery Mondays” from 7-11pm.
