Mac’s Club Deuce is Picture Perfect!
Happy hour pricing at most Miami Beach bars involves a frantic few hours of two-for-one cocktails and a half-hearted spread of free snacks. And then there’s Mac’s Club Deuce - a dive so dedicated to the drinking man their happy our stretches ELEVEN HOURS and kicks off at 8am. No place for lightweights, Mac’s offers no water view, no karaoke, not much of anything but strong drinks and strange company.
Bartending at the notorious dive for 13 years, Melissa Burley is also something of a local icon. She’s smart and funny and loves what she does so much, she’s snaps photos of the drunk and disorderly crowd and projects them on the wall of the bar as something of a cautionary tale for the tipsy regulars.
Melissa’s work has at long last been collected into a sort of Carny Yearbook, a 100-page collection of the best and the darkest images of late night debauchery and midday dalliances all fuelled by those 11 potent hours of turbo-charged two-fers! Celebrate the publication of the first official Deuce photo collection on Wednesday, November 12 at 7pm. Join the tattooed and the topless, the friendly and the fierce faces who have made The Deuce as notorious a spot as any on South Beach - since 1926!
Mac’s Club Deuce is located at 222 14th Street; serving strong drinks to celebrities and street walkers (and everyone in between) 7 days a week. Drinks are 2-for-1 from 8am-7pm every day. Burley’s book is on sale for $40.
