Tuesday has a Big Bounce!

bounce Tuesday has a Big Bounce! The Florida Room, hidden beneath the post-modern glory of the Delano Hotel, is a latter-day speakeasy with a very insider vibe. Locals flock here to escape the more obvious crowds at bigger, brighter nightclubs and celebrities always seem to pop by for that “notice me – don’t notice me” moment in the sparkle of the lucite piano that is the focal point of the club.

Tuesdays in the club’s back room, Empresario Brendan O’Hara spins a mighty web of intriguing nightlife with Komakozie and The Big Bounce; a unique blend of folk, rock, hip hop and soul that brings a sonic Big Band BOOM to this mid-week party.

O’Hara works that big plastic piano. Komakozie’s on the beat box, and their friends materialize all around working the upright bass, the trumpet and the sax, recreating a sort of retro Harlem underground club vibe circa the Roaring 20s.

Check out the show Tuesday night, April 28. You’ll probably decide to bounce along with them Upstairs at the Van Dyke Thursday April 30, up to the roof of the Mayfair in the Grove Friday May 1 and back again at the Florida Room Tuesday May 5th.
