The setting is so relaxed and casual, you may never want to leave.

Cocktails

Cafe Nikki / 2889 MacFarlane Road / We are heading west to Coconut Grove tonight to sample a few signature mojitos at this brand new nightspot featuring hand-crafted Vietnamese furniture, sheer gauzy drapes and plush champagne beds. DJ Shawn Rudnick spins at 7pm.

Dinner

Jaguar Ceviche Spoon Bar / 3067 Grand Avenue / Grab a table at this Latin Grill and sample a platter of the most innovative ceviche preparations in the city. Each unique serving fills a small china spoon and once you’ve found a combo that tickles your palate, you can request a full order to share with the one you love.

Evening Action

Richard Lewis @ The Improv / 3390 Mary Street / Funny and Neurotic Richard Lewis is in town all weekend at the Miami Improv. Sharing stories of his own tortured youth, he’s bound to make you feel a wee bit better about your own. 305-441-8200

Nightlife

SET / 320 Lincoln Road / Best bet on Thursdays is still the very exclusive SET featuring 2 rooms with massive lighting and sound systems that focus all eyes on the “God is a DJ” booth suspended over the main room. Arrive before midnight to get in or reserve a table at 305-531-2800

Friday May 9
Breakfast

Pelican Cafe / 826 Ocean Drive / Ease into a strong cup of coffee and a light bite at this seaside cafe where you can (nearly) get home cooking while on vacation. Farm fresh eggs, just-baked breads and pastries and a friendly smile await you this morning at the Pelican.

Lunch

Lario’s on the Beach / 820 Ocean Drive / It is difficult to get authentic tasting Cuban cuisine on South Beach, but this little cafe strives to replicate the flavors of our neighbors to the south with hearty roast pork, steaming black beans and tender fried plantains. Leave a little room for the sweet flan custard served for dessert and you’re as close to Cuba as you can get without leaving the table.

Cocktails

Rose Bar at the Delano / 1685 Collins Avenue / The night warms up at one of the coolest place to drink in town. The Delano is a temple of modern design and the Rose is its uber-chic watering hole. Cheers!

Dinner

OLA at the Sanctuary / 1745 James Avenue / Call this Pan-Latino cuisine and you’re only halfway there. This innovative menu encompasses a dazzling array of tastes and textures all designed to thrill even the most timid diner. Stop by before the show and let the warm service and seductive atmosphere set the stage for a perfect night out on South Beach.

Evening Action

Bill Maher @ the Fillmore / 1700 Washington Avenue / Politically Incorrect and always on the cutting edge of the morning news, Maher shares his razor sharp wit with fans tonight at 8pm. Republicans beware, Maher is relentless! Tickets at www.ticketmaster.com

Nightlife

Plunge @ Ganesvoort South / 2377 Collins Avenue / We love the idea of taking a plunge 18 stories above the ground and the hot new club on the rooftop pool deck of this Brand New Hotspot should be your targeted destination tonight. There is a 110-foot long swimming pool, a sushi bar and a seriously “adults only” vibe. Jump in…

Saturday May 10
Breakfast

A la Folie / 516 Espanola Way / Start the day with a fruit-filled crepe and a steaming bowl of cafe au lait at this tiny French cafe and bakery. Crisp croissants are baked fresh each morning long before you wake up so they’re still warm when you arrive. Bon appetit!

Lunch

Sheba Ethiopian Restaurant / 4029 North Miami Avenue / A jewel in the Miami Design District, this Ethiopian dining room is warm and inviting. Order a few dishes and be prepared to share and sample using only your hands as utensils. From tender kefta Moroccan spiced meatballs to African style wraps filled with lamb, chicken or beef, the delicate tastes and thoughtful preparation will make a believer of you.

Cocktails

Brosia / 163 NE 39th Street / Sip a soothing libation in the shade of a mighty oak tree while the sun sets over another lovely Miami Day. You’ve got another reason to celebrate art and design tonight in this hip new district in MidTown.

Dinner

Casa Tua / 1700 James Avenue / Decidedly one of the most expensive and luxurious spots for a romantic dinner, Casa Tua is our Saturday night pick. Share a patio table with someone special and explore the burrata, the branzino, the barolo and the evening just gets better! The vibe is decidedly that of a private club and if there is a rating above 5 stars for service and atmosphere, it starts here.

Evening Action

Wynwood Gallery Walk / 3436 North Miami Avenue / Hipsters and Art Fans gather tonight to sip free jug wine and size up the current works of emerging artists at the new gallery scene in MidTown Miami. Head west around 7pm and be certain you’re wearing something quirky like off-color trainers or thick plastic eyeglasses. Info here

Mokai / 235 23rd Street / Just a short walk or taxi from dinner puts you at the door of this cozy after-hours destination for the discerning club-goer. Mokai attracts discrete celebrities, local athletes and spectacularly beautiful women. The space is small so reserve a table or be prepared to work your magic at the door. Ross One spins. 305-531-4166

Afternoon Action

Amazing Sundays / 1 Ocean Drive / Stick around after brunch to enjoy the all-day sun fest out back at Nikki’s featuring resident DJs Patrick M and Armand Pena. Feast your eyes upon the “interactive entertainers” and dancers who will keep you from falling into a carb- loaded coma. Reserve a VIP sun bed by calling 305-538-1111, or visit www.nikkibeach.com.
