Miami Beach Weekend Itinerary for May 15-18

weekend5a.jpgGirls just want to have fun… and we dedicate this weekend to them from start to finish. Why? Why not! Without their shiny hair, tawny legs and sexy clothes, South Beach would be - well, it wouldn’t be - and that’s just OUT of the question! There will be a few thousand MORE women in town this weekend celebrating at the beaches and clubs. If you are in town for SweetHeat or AquaGirl - welcome! This is definitely a GREAT weekend for the Girls, Girls Girls. Ready for the weekend?  Here’s your itinerary for May 15-18.

Thursday May 15
Breakfast

Shore Club Spa / 1901 Collins Avenue / A healthy breakfast awaits you on the 8000sq.ft. rooftop retreat at The Shore Club where you can be pampered on an outdoor terrace overlooking the sea. Enjoy a signature “Wild Zesty Massage” - essential oils are applied to your hair, neck and shoulders to nourish the scalp, combat mental exhaustion, restore the spirit and eliminate jet lag and fatigue. After that - it’s GO time!

Lunch

Sushi Samba / 600 Lincoln Road / Asian fusion cuisine is a common theme at local eateries but only THIS one blends the best of Japan with the sexy fare of Brazil! From expertly prepared sashimi to anticuchos, tiraditos and even a first-rate churrasco, the chefs at Sushi Samba cover land and sea with equal ease.

Cocktails

AquaGirl @ Surfcomber / 1717 Collins Avenue / ALL weekends are ALL about women but THIS weekend, South Beach hosts the GrlPwr gathering that makes partying even MORE fun. Tonight join the party girls at Curve Magazine’s opening drinkfest from 6-9pm.

Dinner

Barton G / 1427 West Avenue / Reserve a patio table under the stars and let Miami’s host with the most dazzle you with his culinary pyrotechnics tonight. Exotic orchids and twinkling tealights set the stage for a romantic meal filled with “puns in presentation” from swordfish served with a REAL sword or lobster pop tarts in a custom toaster… Barton G knows what makes dinner a delight.

Evening Action

Avenue Q at the Arsht Center / 1300 Biscayne Boulevard / A raunchy ALL PUPPET musical based loosely (very loosely) on the Sesame Street characters singing about big city life takes the stage tonight. Songs such as “Everybody’s a Little Bit Racist” and “The Internet Is for Porn” will make you laugh at the Muppet Madness.

Nightlife

Traffic Jam @ Score / 727 Lincoln Road / Want to Score? You’ll love that this party is color coded with glow-stick necklaces! Red means She’s Taken, Yellow means Approach with Caution, and Green means - GO FOR IT! DJ Brynn Taylor spins, go go dancers wriggle and tonight it’s a Traffic Jam of Dance and Romance… Vroom!

Mansion / 1235 Washington Avenue / The Hip Hop Symposium after-party should bring the noise to the temple of electronic beats. Party tonight with the New Skool Kidz from FIU as they celebrate the end of their Globalizing Hip Hop Conference. Qwote performs his hit single “Don’t Wanna Fight” live and the party rocks til 5am.

Friday May 16
Breakfast

Joley @ Astor Hotel / 956 Washington Avenue / Chef John Suley takes the helm at this 3000 sq.ft. contemporary restaurant in the lobby of the Art Deco Astor Hotel and starts serving breakfast at 7am. Grab a table on the secluded patio and start your morning with a steaming pot of coffee and a jumbo lump crab-filled omelet. Heaven!

Lunch

Dynamo Cafe @ Wolfsonian Museum / 1001 Washington Avenue / Spend the morning exploring the world of Modern Design and then relax in the cool confines of the museum restaurant and shop for some very well selected gifts too! Soft lighting and comfy seating make this an escape you’ll treasure.

Cocktails

Havana Nights @ Nikki Beach Club / 1 Ocean Drive / Two dance floors and an open-air casino featuring Texas Hold-Em and Black Jack turn this hot, Latin-themed dance party into a sizzling adventure on the sand. DJ Dezrock and Puerto Rico’s hot Miss M spin til 3am.

Dinner

Bond Street Lounge / 150 20th Street / The hipster vibe at this Austin Powers inspired sushi lounge should not make you underestimate the cuisine. Regulars and visitors mix and mingle over a refined selection of sake and maki. Sushi is serious business and it’s done just right at Bond Street.

Evening Action

Banda Santa @ Santo / 430 Lincoln Road / We love the idea of something unexpected, something hidden from view. Santo is not a big draw at first glance, but once you get past the calm exterior, it’s a party spot beyond your wildest expectations. Banda Santa is a Latin-themed party Friday nights that’ll have you shaking your bon-bon just like Shakira!
Reservations a must, 305-532-2882

Nightlife

Shine / 1801 Collins Avenue / Anthony Pappa - “the DJs DJ” - spins tonight at the Friday Night House Party that promises to rock ’til dawn. DJs Pryde and Jon Cowan are also slated to perform and Florida residents get in FREE before midnight! Join Anthony as he launches his North American Tour and groove on the deep house we love.

Saturday May 17
Breakfast

Nikki Beach Club / 1 Ocean Drive / We’re kicking it on SoFi this morning with a healthy breakfast and some early morning rays on a sexy sun bed. Nikki knows how to party and Saturday mornings are no exception.

Lunch

La Piaggia / 1000 South Pointe Drive / Patterned after a luxe beach club in the South of France, La Piaggia is an elite lunch oasis offering Mediterranean-style tapas, salads, and ultra-fresh seafood served al fresco. This members-only venue does allow limited reservations, so call and take the plunge. 305-674-0647

Afternoon Action

Aqualicious Pool Party / 1717 Collins Avenue / 2,000 scantily clad women, cool seaside cocktails, DJ Pride and DJ Kaprah spinning and a special performance by the Miami HEAT dancers make this poolside dance party extra hot. MTV’s “Shot of Love” star Dani Campbell hosts this high-energy party from 11-5pm. Luck Be a Lady!

Cocktails

Stuart Davis CD Release Party @ Standard / 40 Island Avenue / Hit the Bayside hipster hangout around 7pm to hear Davis perform chill new sounds from his subtly spiritual new CD.

Dinner

Touch / 910 Lincoln Road / A perfectly grilled lobster and a chilled bottle of Chardonnay make Saturday night on Lincoln Road the perfect vacation destination. Sean Brasel’s modern American cuisine features a 24-ounce spice-rubbed rib eye topped with “tobacco onions” that’ll make you feel like a new-age Marlboro Man.

Nightlife

Paradise at DOLCE Ultra Lounge @ Chakra / 1500 Ocean Drive / This multi-level complex of lights, sounds and visuals spins all night long for the hottest party of the weekend. DJs Alyson Calanga and Miss Flava work the decks, there’s a bikini and beachwear fashion show and hot burlesque performers “Vixen” entertain throughout the evening.

Sunday May 18
Brunch

Jazz Brunch @ The Victor / 1144 Ocean Drive / Relax and unwind at the sexy Victor Hotel this morning with the vocal stylings of Sofy Encanto. Embrace the day with complimentary Bloody Marys and a pan-Asian menu. Somebody say, “Amen!”

Dinner

The Forge / 432 41st Street / Sundays are particularly social at this restaurant and nightclub on a quiet street in MidBeach. Don’t be fooled. The Continental menu features prime steaks, chocolate soufflés and one of the largest selections of wine in the city. After hours, the Sunday night crowd parties next door at Jimmy’z til the sun comes up…

Nightlife

Kulcha Shok @ Jazid / 1342 Washington Avenue / If Jimmy’s is too wild for a Sunday night, spend the wee hours in the embrace of live Reggae performances as Lance O presents Fourth Dimension and the Three of We. Upstairs, the Ministers of Roots perform with Junior Lee, Mello-D and Firewood. Irie Mon! myspace.com/kulchashok Have Fun!
