Miami Beach Itinerary for the 4th of July, 2008

This weekend we’re going to fore-go our usual format in order to bring you the top events occurring over the 4th of July weekend in Miami Beach. Here are the events you should check-out…

 
Thursday July 3
DAYGLOW @ SPACE

The weekend kicks off at SPACE with the annual DAYGLOW Event. We love this one! Guests are invited to wear all white clothing and get splashed with glowing paint as they dance all night to DJs Oscar G, David Solano, Eran Hersh & Darmon and Johnny Banks in the Main Room, Supersede, DJ Turk and DJ Flo in the Loft and Cato K, Riot Gear, Lucho and ESP on the Terrace. Space is located at 34 NE 11th Street in Downtown Miami.

2 LIVE CREW @ VAGABOND
Miami’s favorite sons take the mic tonight at Vagabond to celebrate their First Amendment rights to Rap! If you like it real and you like it loud, follow the beat Downtown to hear how it all started. Vagabond is 30 NE 14th Street at 10pm.

PURE @ DREAM
Dream Nightclub presents PURE House Sessions with DJ Steve Smooth and JJ Flores joining Luis Carrizo and Juane spinning for a Microkitten Fashion Presentation. Dream is located at 1532 Washington Avenue

VICTOR CALDERONE @ NOCTURNAL
Victor Calderone spins alongside Parantula and Ivan D at Nocturnal Miami 50 NE 11th Street Downtown starting at 10pm Special guests will join in on the decks including QBA, Alexa, Willie Morales, DMS12, Lopera, Tony Puccio, George Carrasco, Dsan Powell, Nova, and Tomas Quiceno.

Friday July 4th

HEATHROW LOUNGE OPENS
Clubland welcomes it’s newest Washington Avenue destination as Heathrow Lounge comes in for a splash landing at 681 Washington Avenue for July 4th opening party. Jose Ortiz hopes to blend an upmarket venue with some Downtown grit in a UK-inspired club that caters to socialites, strippers and celebrities. The club divides into 4 theme rooms - Wilde Manor (rock star habitat), Hyde Park (a burlesque forest), Milk Bar (mod Ziggy Stardust meets Clockwork Orange) and Spy Bar (James Bond’s martini lounge). Check out local favorites Midas, Contra and Johnny the Boy kicking off the party at this new venue tonight and tomorrow at 681 Washington Avenue. Let’s hope the fire marshall got his lunch money so he doesn’t cut the party short like he did at Aero Bar’s opening weekend!

ARMIN VAN BUUREN @ SURFCOMBER
The Main Event starts early with the Surfcomber Pool and Beach Party featuring 12 hours of superstar DJs Behrouz, Donald Glaude, Glenn Morrison, Patrick M, Stephan Luke, Shawn Rudnick, Louis Dee, Lazardi, Massimo and Armin Van Buuren at 1717 Collins Avenue from 11am to 11pm

MIA @ MANSION
Mansion invites you to join DJ Ideal as he celebrates a live performance by Mya at 1235 Washington Avenue on South Beach.

BEHROUZ @ AEROBAR
Aero Bar celebrates the Fourth with a 6-hour set by DJ Behrouz at 247 23rd Street on Miami Beach www.aerobarmiami.com

LOCOS POR JUANA @ JAZID
Latin ritmos blending Colombian cumbia and reggae beats stir the crowd tonight with FREE shots for girls who arrive in bikinis… Nothing but a party tonight at Jazid 1342 Washington Avenue.

Saturday July 5th

DOUG E. FRESH @ BRICKS
Reminisce with DJ Doug E Fresh at the Bricks Nightclub and Skybar with DJ Suicide, DJ Epps and Black Chiney at 66 SW 6th Streeet down by the Miami River at 11pm. Info - 305-338-2625

HERNAN CATTANEO @ MANSION
Hernan Cattaneo spins a 4-hour set tonight at Mansion 1235 Washington Avenue on South Beach. DJ Nick Varon opens.

ERIC MORILLO @ SPACE
Eric Morillo hits the Terrace at SPACE at 2am following an opening set by Patrick M. Dance all night at another Marathon Party Downtown at 34 NE 11th Street.

GAMEBOY/GAMEGIRL @ POPLIFE
3 Aussie MCs bring their Coochie Club Music to White Room tonight for a throwdown of their dance hits with DJ Miami Horror bringing the beats. Their dance hit “”Sweaty Wet Dirty Damp” best describes a long night of dancing Downtown! Check them out at 1306 North Miami Avenue

GILBERTO GIL @ FILLMORE
Bossa Nova bad boy brings his Bahia beats to the Beach tonight for a performance the ex-pat Brazilian Community celebrates all night long. Imprisoned in 1969 with fellow tropicália innovator Caetano Veloso, Gil currently serves as the Minister of Culture for his homeland and travels the world sharing his message of freedom with the world. The show starts at 8pm at 1700 Washington Avenue
