Restaurant |
Can a master party/scene-maker really produce a first-class
restaurant? We're going to go with a definite "yes" on this one
mainly because we've dined there and already know the answer. Miami Beach
Mayor David Dermer presented a key to the city to Barton G. Weiss at the
restaurant's grand opening surrounded by two live giraffes and restaurant
mascot Sabrina the Chimp and things have just kept going for the
restaurant over on West Avenue.
Barton G's
reputation as master scene-maker continues on thanks to chef Ted
Mendez neo-classic selections and innovative interpretations of
traditional American culinary fare. And after dinner enjoy a Blue Sky
Martini at the piano bar or a Warm Chocolate Truffle Tore with Mini Root
Beer Float in the lush outside garden.

restaurant is simply amazing. I went with some friends and the memories
I have of this restaurant are unforgettable. The lighting was perfect,
the decor was amazing and the food was phenomenal. If you sit inside or
outside you will have equally just as much fun. The dessert is even
better than the food. The creations that they came up with are all
memorable desserts we had as a child in a circus type setting. The
cotton candy in a popcorn balloon was too cute to pass up and the
assortment of creme brulees was enough to feed the whole table. I
usually don't go to the same restaurants twice, if I don't live in the
town, but I can't wait to go back. |

absolutely loved Barton G! The food was very good, but other restaurants
are better. The draw is the atmosphere. Try to get an outdoor table and
it will make all the difference in the world! You feel as though you are
dining in a jungle. Service was wonderful and the food presentation was
equally wonderful. I can't say enough about how much fun I had! |

it is Disneyesque (for adults)...way over-produced ! If you just can't
stomach smoldering drinks or boiling cauldrons of glowing boiling oil in
which to dip skewered shrimp, better stay clear of Barton G's. But if
you go, don't be so dazzled, or annoyed, by the theatrics of it all that
you don't let yourself taste the food. It's very good.
Don't get the cupcake dessert. It
sounds good but it isn't right vibe for the place. I had the seared tuna
which had a description barely recognizable as tuna. It was beautifully
presented on a turquoise and black, rectangular raku plate with a
kneeling buddha at one end holding a little bowl of my dipping sauce.
Mine was the simplest dish at our table of 4. Definitely get the shrimp
appetizer.
Bring the bankroll. Have crazy
cocktails. |

went to this restaurant with a group of 6 friends from NYC. We were
expecting a sophisticated atmosphere with terrific food. What we got
instead was Disneyland at outrageous prices. Service was ok, but the
food was mundane and pedestrian and I've dined at fine restaurants
throughout the world, NYC, Paris, London, Madrid, ect.
DEFINITELY would not return to this
restaurant, nor would I recommend it to anyone looking for a classic
South Beach experience. Barton G.'s cheapened what fine dining is. My
friends and I all agreed, never again. |

went to Barton G's last night May 19 wow we had such a great experience.
From the moment we valeted the car to the hostess to our waiter Carlos
everyone was great. Our meal was wonderful. I had the filet mignon and
my husband the 2lb lobster which was fabulous. We had such a romantic
night there. I would definitely recommend Barton G's. One word is
AWESOME!!!!! |

when they should have been hot. The shrimp appetizer tasted more like a
seaweed appetizer. The presentation is interesting but after spending
nearly $300 for 2 people, I would expect to have had excellent food and

never thought I would be one of these people who would write in review,
but I have to say, the experience I had was unbelievable. ($100.00) The
presentation of the food is so creative and tastes as good as it is fun
to eat. (250.00) Watching food being served as everyone ooohing and
ahhhing and pointing and smiling was really something to be seen. I have
been back a number of times, and every time, I have met and seen others
as well talk and share food sometimes with complete strangers at
different tables, but all experiencing the same fun and enjoyment. Never
in my life have I experienced that at any other restaurant. (Priceless) |

The vibe in the place was great with beautiful
people all around us, the only thing bad was

walk in the door you know you are somewhere special. The décor, the
ambiance, the food, the presentation and the white glove service are all
to die for. My husband and I had an entire meal (including drinks) for
under $120. I also
like the fact that it is located off the main tourist strip and there
seemed to be a lot of locals (aka people without third degree sunburns),
which is always a good sign. We'll be back for sure. |
