Casa Tua
1700 James Avenue
Miami Beach, FL 33139
(305) 673-1010
Neatly
tucked away in a secluded
residential area on James Avenue, Casa Tua presents a fresh approach to
dining in Miami Beach. The ground-level dining area has an eighteen-seat
communal chef's table, with a wide-open kitchen area close by, while the
second floor contains a five suite boutique hotel.
Executive
chef Sergio Sigala and sous-chef Gabriela Bergomi combine their talents to
create innovative variations of Italian cuisine in a glamorously unusual
setting that has become the talk of the town in Miami Beach.

Review: The
prices are exorbitant, and the portions are the smallest I have ever
had. For instance, the rack of lamb entree consists of 2 tiny lamb chops
and minor sides, for a very high price! I am not a big eater, and left
hungry, for about $100 per person, not including wine. Yikes! The
ambiance is nice, but there are much better choices in South Beach. |

Review: I
had no problems with the staff, but the food there is by European
standards just regular Italian food (except for some "minor"
misunderstandings regarding the Italian cuisine on the chef's side)
making the entire experience totally overpriced. |

Review: It's
time for South Beach to get rid of the "I'm too good to be here"
waiters. This charming little restaurant with very well prepared plates
loses points fast because of poor service. Should the owners choose to
change the staff, it could become a great place. |

Review: Having
dined at 5-star restaurants all over the US, I have to say that Casa Tua
is right at the top of my list. The food is wonderful and portion size
is sort of small, which allows you to try a number of things during the
3-4 courses. This is ideal because you'll want to try everything on the
menu after just one bite. The sommelier was extremely helpful and much
to our surprise didn't just recommend the most expensive bottle of wine
on the menu. The wine selection is excellent offering many new and old
world choices as well as prices points for every budget. The service was
impeccable, if not a bit too much at times. But definitely better than
having to chase down a server for a glass of water. I plan on visiting
Casa Tua over and over again. |
