Most
arrive by default at da Leo's sidewalk cafe on
touristy Lincoln Road. Believe it or not, this restaurant, which
has now permeated more square feet of sidewalk space than any other eatery
on the road, started as a tiny indoor cafe that was gorgeous.
It still
is, but good luck getting a table inside, particularly on hot nights. A
really decent spot for people watching, plus there are so many tables,
there’s rarely a wait. Try the proscuitto and melon appetizer. Avoid
salads, and stick with tried-and-true pizzas and pastas. A surprisingly
innovative wine list, some nice Italian beers, plus enthusiastic service
round off the da Leo experience.

food was excellent. my only qualm is that i told the host that it was my
gf's b-day and he said they would have a tiramasu sent out for her.
alas, after an excellent meal, the b-day dessert never came. the host
was sitting at a table eating with his buddies. not cool in my book so a
big thumbs down for customer service, but i have no complaints about the
food. the wait staff was great, but the host put me in a crappy mood.

Review: Our
waiter was from Italy and the specials were superb! People watching was
fun, but the food was even better. We had the sea bass, lightly saut'd
and served with a lemon butter sauce. We will return.
