DeVito South
Beach
Some say South Beach is simply overrun with steak houses - which is true - unless you're keeping track of all of the Italian joints. While "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," Danny Devito came to South Florida to open his own Italian + Steak house right on Ocean Drive! Choose a traditional Italian red-sauced meal starting with Mama's meatballs and a hearty pasta or drive your expense account WILD with a $300 "Flight" of Kobe steaks from 3 different continents. We think the big price tag must cover the cows' airfare. With a nod to 1950s Miami Beach and the Viva Las Vegas lounge era, the decor at Devito is simply over the top. Fans of Danny's movies can check out the running loops of his greatest hits shown on little flat TVs all over the place. If you caught his most recent Limoncello Escapades on the morning chat show "The View," you'll definitely want to sample some of his custom brewed fire-water for yourself. This sugary sweet citrus liqueur will make you forget your troubles and kick up your heels just like Danny did as The Penguin in BATMAN! Meals start off with delicious hot popovers and a few hot antipasti from roasted peppers to zucchini fritti. Guest wishing to replicate the popovers at home get a free copy of the recipe. Fans of the red sauce are welcome to buy a jar on the way out the door as well. Locals who have frequented David Manero's restaurants will tell you that he really knows how to host a delicious evening. Devito is no exception. See what all the fuss is about at one of the curtained cabana tables or under the cozy light of the tiny Murano glass chandeliers upstairs. Devito makes everyone feel like family. Mangia!
