Doraku Miami Beach

Doraku

Designed by New York architect Chris Smith, Doraku reflects a modern aesthetic with futuristic design elements. Colorful accent lighting highlights artifacts from Rocky Aoki's (Benihana's founder) private Japanese and Asian art collection, in addition to the Japanese anime embellishing the bar. A wood carved sculpture of a walking villager extends a greeting to all who enter the world of Doraku.

Doraku offers a menu that has something for everyone whether they enjoy sushi or not. A well-rounded menu also provides wide selection for those who frequent Doraku on a regular basis.

The most ordinary piece of sushi (Nigiri) and rolls taste fresher than most at Doraku. Superb attention to detail (not too much rice and more ingredients) and a dedication to creating unusually delicious specialty rolls with seasonal fish, shell fish and local ingredients including avocado and mango are Doraku's high points. The California rolls are made with real crab, unlike most other sushi restaurants.

Review:  My son works at Van Dyke in South Beach and knows one of your former servers well. She loves your property, as does he. I am most anxious to get back to try it first hand. I know Japanese restaurants pretty well, and Doraku is apparently the _real deal - most unusual in Stateside sushi restaurants!

Review:  I went to visit a friend who is a waiter @ Doraku - we ended up enjoying it so much that it's now our very favorite sushi place in Miami!  Our waitress was lovely and gave fantastic recommendations on both drinks and rolls to order.  Entrees can be expensive but the sushi rolls themselves are totally reasonable!

Review:  I expected much more than what I received in Doraku. It is an uncomfortable restaurant, too dark, and although the flavor of the food is good, the presentation was rather poor. Even some rolls were not properly made cause they broke apart when trying to eat them. The restrooms smelled awful and the menus too! probably they had been wiped with dirty rags. There are so many good restaurants in Miami I don't see why I would return to this one.

Review:  We must have walked by this place five times before we actually stopped in to have a bite, and I wished we would have noticed it sooner! The sushi was great - very fresh and reasonably priced. Great signature cocktails as well. The staff was very attentive and service was fast. I would recommend this place to any and everyone.

Review:  Wonderful and quite.  Saki menu is extensive...sushi is great.  Book a reservation so you don't have to wait long.  I've eaten there several times and have told out of town guests to eat there as well.
