Front
Porch Cafe
1418 Ocean Drive,
Miami Beach, FL 33139
(305) 531-8300

If
you're looking for the best breakfast on Ocean Drive, you've found the right
place at the Front Porch Cafe. South Beach locals have long-appreciated this
tiny spot on the north end of the Ocean Drive strip for its quick service (in
South Beach !?!), and pleasant setting on the ground level of the
Penguin hotel.
Due to the Front Porch's
popularity the
wait is sometimes excessive, but the
food is definitely worth it, as are the conversations you might
overhear in the tightly packed cafe.
Best bets on the menu include a hearty order of granola
pancakes, the fresh fruit salad and any of the just-squeezed juices. Later
in the day, smart locals gather to enjoy home-style cooking in a laid back
atmosphere at this quiet end of Ocean Drive. This might be the least
expensive option for reliable dining on this tourist-driven strip.

Review: We
ate outside so we could enjoy the weather and the sights. They were
filming a movie on the street so it was an added feature. |

Review: I
have recently returned from a holiday in South Beach with my boyfriend.
We had brunch at the Front Porch regularly and always enjoyed it! The
service was great, very friendly and cute waiters (Hi Rodrigo!!) and the
food delicious. Anyone spending time in South Beach MUST go there! |

Review: After
we couldn't get a table at News Cafe someone recommended the Front Porch
and we were able to get a table right away. We ended up sitting inside
(it was the only seating they had available), but it turned out to be a
great experience. You are essentially sitting in the lobby of the hotel,
but it couldn't be more charming. The menu is pretty basic, but the food
was great. Our server was pretty attentive, but you really can't beat
the prices or the view of the ocean. Next time we won't even try the
News Cafe, we'll just come straight here. Definitely check this place
out! |
