Meat Market
915 Lincoln Road
Miami Beach, FL 33139
305.532.0088

Tourists, toddlers and tons of pampered pooches can overwhelm Lincoln Road but that doesn't seem to affect the hoards of local carnivores who flock to Meat Market to savor Chef Sean Brasel's hot new steak and seafood menu. From the dazzling new raw bar installation to the cozy banquettes along the wall, the restaurant's designers showcase not just the entrees but also the well-heeled patrons who definitely dress to impress.

Serving beef from buffalo to Kobe, offerings from the grill are available in smaller and larger cowboy-friendly cuts. A starter of Kobe sliders tops the tiny, designer beef patties with sharp cheddar or foie gras for some pretty highbrow fast food. If raw seafood doesn't entice, the white truffle Kobe tartare might tempt you to the pricey pampered meat. Sides of truffled mac and cheese are not as successful as the tangy Gouda tater tots but both brought smiles to our table.

Hungry couples seem to zero in on the 30 ounce bone in Harris Ranch NY strip steak which makes one wonder why everyone's bitching about the economy. It seems dieters dedicated to the low carbohydrate lifestyle have made it possible to gorge on huge quantities of protein in public, so the days of ladies daintily grazing on endless salads are thankfully at an end. If your wallet is plump and your wardrobe is willing, reserve a table at the best new steakhouse on South Beach.

Review:  Meat Heaven! And none of that self-important snootiness that you run into at the other steak houses at the other end of the beach.  The service is incredible, attentive without being overbearing.  The restaurant was busy (8:30 Sat night) but the staff made every table feel like royalty. The manager stopped by the table to see that our steaks were the right temperature.

And the food! My steak was incredible, it was tender and cooked to perfection. The selection of sides is quite impressive.  We had potato gratin and brussel sprouts, both were fantastic.  Save room for the pistachio cr?e Brule-trust me, it's delicious.  Our new favorite steak house!  If it sounds like I'm raving, I am.  Meat Market delivers a complete dining experience.

Review:  Located in  the former Pacific Time space on Lincoln Road.  The interior space and service staff are polished.  This is a steakhouse with some menu twists.  They offer several half portions of steaks for reasonable prices- 6 oz filet for $24.  The Kobe skirt steak for $30 is one of the best bargains in town. There is a fantastic  ancho-chile rub for one of the larger steaks, but the chef was willing to use the rub on our filet.

Main complaints: for a steakhouse with a huge wine list, there are  very few big reds by the glass and secondly it is loud.  We will go back.
