Located in the chic neo deco Hotel Astor, Metro Kitchen & Bar is a cosmopolitan blend of laid-back Beach and posh urbana, co-owned by Mynt's Nicola Siervo of Joia fame. Metro's creative Chefs Michael Rodriguez and Mike Neal keep both the glamorous and yet-to-be-glamorous happy with American eclectic fare, fused with Italian, French and Asian influences.

Innovative bar creations and the overall cocktail scene are also part of the restaurant's major appeal: martini sippers hold their stems with care as they venture to the surrounding plush outdoor garden and beautiful downstairs dining area and lounge. With contemporary ambiance in a timeless setting, the cozy hotel and restaurant will certainly remain a fixture among hotel restaurants in Miami Beach.

We initially came in for happy hour cocktails (heard the music from the street and couldn't resist), but we we're having such a great time that we ordered appetizers and stayed all night. The ambiance is terrific - tropical, yet chic. Loved the garden area! It is an intimate spot great for mingling with other people, but the space also lends itself as a great date spot with dark corners and romantic candle light. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the prime Washington Avenue location. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu.
