Industry veteran Jennie Yip blended Eastern tradition
with Miami flair at Miss Yip Chinese Cafe. Modeled after a Shanghai
teahouse, the restaurant design is simplistic but enriched with exotic
details; most noticeable is the high, open ceiling, deep red booths, and
intricate, oriental wallpaper. Regulars go for the homemade dim sum or the
daily lunch special, a choice of entree, rice and vegetable spring roll,
but more neo-traditional
dishes include the steamed golden corn shrimp ball or sliced duck and mango
salad. For cocktails, the drinks are subtly infused with such flavors as
ginger or fresh raspberry: the after-work Lincoln Rd. scene guzzles the
Madame Ming or a fresh take on a Miami favorite, a Lychee Mojito.
