Serving as
a restaurant, showroom and music venue, Morena is the South Beach hot spot
for authentic Spanish cuisine and late-night Latin music. Festive and warm,
the establishment was created by experienced restaurateurs from Madrid who
wanted to blend the cultures of Spain and Miami, and the concept has been
working successfully for six years.
Evening diners feast on
tasty tapas or large platters of paella, and the meal is accompanied by a
selection from the exclusive wine list or the Morena sangria, described by
some as "liquid ambrosia." After the wine and dine on Fridays and Saturdays
at 10p.m. and midnight, a flamenco show establishes a pulsing rhythm. By
1a.m., the tables disappear and the floor is filled with hip-swaying salsa
dancing to the wee hours of the Washington Avenue
morning.
