Prime 112
112 Ocean Drive
Miami Beach, FL 33139
305 532.8112

Prime 112 is a positively excellent steakhouse and it's just a shame you can't get in?at least not without a reservation as much as a month in advance. Ah, but once you are seated in this trendy restaurant in the SoFI section of South Beach, you're in for a treat.

Go with the Sauteed Hudson Valley Foie Gras, Organic Field Greens, and 48 ounce Porterhouse for Two, with six sauces, five butters, and eleven accessories to choose from. And while you're waiting for your meal, enjoy the enticing eye-candy that frequents this hot new area of South Beach.

Review:  You do get a lot of food for your money compared with other places in South Beach and I did like it, but to me it's just another steakhouse. I do love steak, but the menus always tend to be the same. I will say it is very good though.

Review:  Definitely not worth the price.  Very small tables crammed right up against each other.  The back of my chair was actually touching the table behind me.  Very uncomfortable for me, and I'm sure the people seated there.  Had a $55 stone crab  (claw)about the size of a large , but not jumbo strimp.  Don't waste your money. Had the bone in rib eye, which was mostly fat and somewhat rubbery.  Tried the collard greens, more pork fat than greens and somewhat salty.  Waiter was overbearing and somewhat condescending.  Too loud, too crowded, with some drunk couple slobberin each other down in the crowded bar area.  Spent over $300, wish we had gone to Mickey Ds, at least I would have had less crowded seating, and faster service.  At one point, I was like, if the meal is not out here in the next five minutes, we're leaving. We ended up taking our meal to go, and then not eating it after all. What a letdown.  Who do I call for a refund?

Review:  I had a miserable experience, which was so disappointing after hearing all the hype about how excellent it is supposed to be. The way they allow the waiting patrons to crowd all over the outside and indoor entrance and bar made the wait intolerable, showing that they don't managing their booking and seating very well.  Then the food was a massive disappointment. One word: salt. I had the saltiest lobster bisque and an even saltier filet. I will not be going back.

Review:  I went to Prime 112 last night for dinner. I had a group of 10 people and had reservations at 10:30 PM. When I got there, they told me that they had a wait of 40 minutes, which was annoying. They also said that because of our large group, we (ironically) would be seated sooner than the smaller parties. After the 40 minute wait at the over-crowded and very small bar area, where we kept getting bumped into, I went to the front counter to check on the reservation.

We were told it would be another 15 minutes. After waiting now a full hour, I again went to the desk to check on the reservation and they said it would be another 15 minutes. We did not get seated until an hour and forty-five minutes after our initial reservation, which wasn't until 12:15 AM!! What a sham!

To top it off, we didn't even get seated in the main restaurant and they took us to their annex which was in a different building.

Yes, to be fair, they did buy us a round of drinks. But they ruined our entire evening and we had to cancel our plans for the later part of our evening as we didn't leave there until after 2:00 AM.

Furthermore, while some in our party enjoyed their meal, others felt that the steaks weren't that good and that the food was over-rated.

I would strongly caution anyone wanting to go to Prime 112 to BEWARE!

Review:  i had a 7;45 reservation booked a week in advance and waited till 8;30 standing near the bar. bumped into by waiters who were oafs and a bitchy bartender. i left and told the host/hostess that in chicago, you wouldn't last a month treating customers like that.

Review:  Prime 112 is totally over-rated, poor service, average food, a surly front desk manager who refused to honor a 4 month old table reservation for a birthday. Not worth a visit.

Review:  Why bother to give out reservations if you have no intent to honor them. My wife and I arrived at 9:35 for our 9:45 PM reservation anticipating a memorable night for our 25th anniversary at this "exciting" spot. By 11:15 we were not yet seated and only told "don't worry everyone will get seated sometime."

If you don't want the "commoners" in your place just say so. Plenty of other places would have welcomed our $300. I didn't need to sit next to Pat Riley or Dennis Rodman, but also didn't need to be this humiliated on my special night.

I can't comment on the food since we left at 11:30 without tasting a morsel. Maybe we would have been seated eventually, but while I can't speak for other diners, the giant porterhouse just doesn't go down well for me after midnight.

Review:  Reservation means reservation.  If somebody has one then a little wait happens, but TWO HOURS is embarrassing.  It assumes that the restaurant is the only plan and the round of drinks does not compensate for the impact on the rest of the evening. Unfortunately, the food was very good which provides mixed emotion. I would have liked to enjoyed it without knowing how they disregarded day one restaurant rules.

The bar staff was unable to handle the crowd which in turn makes me wait WITHOUT A DRINK! now you're just throwing money away. Scene and ambiance can never make up for discourteous in any city. Side note our server was fine, but by that point the night was shot.

Review:  The food is just OK, nothing special. Had better meat even at Houston's. The fries were veeery salty, almost impossible to eat. The service was lousy, some people in our table were served while others waited for a while to get their plates. And prepare for the noise, its hard to keep conversation flowing...would not go back.

Review:  The service at Prime 112 is horrendous!  We made reservations a month in advance and arrived on time...they kept us waiting for over an hour and a half.  Once we got to the table the everything was great!  I'm stuck between the burgers and the tuna for an appetizer.  Notwithstanding, the wait ruined the evening for everyone.

Review:  To coin a word from Will Ferrell's parody of James Lipton: Scrumtrilescent! Our voracious appetites prohibited us from exercising restraint - especially with the wide array of appetizers. This not only ballooned our waistline, but our bottom-line as well. Though our tab for a table of four was $800, the price was worth every morsel. Of the four exquisite steaks we ordered, the Porterhouse received the highest praise. Other raves: Beefsteak Tomato & Onion salad; Roasted Garlic Mash; Sweet Potato & Vanilla Bean; Kobe Burgerettes, Crab Cakes and House Tater Tots! We made reservations over a month in advance.

Review:  Prime 112 is, by far, the best American fare restaurant in Miami Beach. The steaks were perfectly prepared, and the other menu selections were absolutely wonderful. It is truly a place to see and be seen with beautiful people and celebrities everywhere. Most important, the ambience and the food were worth the reservation and the price.
