When night falls on Miami Beach, diners search for something a little more colorful, like dinner at Talula. To begin with appetizers ($8 - $18) include tartar of ahi tuna with serrano chiles, cucumber, crispy rice and trout roe, or Caicos conch ceviche served with citrus-ginger marinade, avocado, tomato and yuca chips. Grilled shrimp tamale with fava beans, roasted poblano chiles napped with a teardrop tomato vinaigrette, and Cascabel chile crusted barbecue quail served with sweet potato agnolotti, oyster mushrooms and a brandy porcini demi glace are sure to put all five senses into gear.

Entrees ($4 - $27) include several delicacies from the sea like crispy skin local yellowtail snapper with sweet potato – wild mushroom risotto, wilted organic arugula and kaffir lime butter, lime and marisol chile glazed black grouper with sweet sake broth, udon noodles, bok choy and shichimi togarashi, or grilled Atlantic salmon served with creamer potato-smoked bacon hash, asparagus, and a dijon-garlic vinaigrette. Dry aged black angus ribeye is priced by the ounce ($4) and served with pancetta and aged cheddar smashed potatoes, swiss chard, brown ale-battered onion rings and a Cabernet demi glace.

Review:  Restaurant was soo dark we couldn't read the menu or see the check,  we were 2 people and our meals came out 5-6 minutes apart after waiting for them for over 1 hour,  a mojita was 18.00!!,  my husbands steak was 44.00 -not on the menu, the waiter recommended it, it wasn't even that good  we are new yorkers and expect to pay for fine food and good service but this restaurant was poor- don't bother going.

Review:  I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a romantic dining experience in South Beach.  My wife and I were in South Beach for our tenth anniversary.  We booked a late evening table at Talula - and were hoping to get one of the booths in this beautiful restaurant.  When we arrived it was close to closing time and all the booths were filled.  After talking to the GM, the entire staff went out of their way to make our dinner at Talula a fabulous one.  We had a drink at the bar and even pre-ordered our appetizers.  A booth came available and the entire staff seemed to be at our beck and call.

The food at Talula was awesome.  The flavors used on the dishes were very unique and delicious.  We had the yellow tail snapper at the advice of our waiter and it was probably the best fish I have ever eaten.  We also had the filet which was so tender that I didn't even use a knife to cut it.

Bottom line is the ambience, food, and service were all outstanding and (in my opinion) the price was very reasonable for the value received.

Review:  After seeing the restaurant's chef on the Today show we had to stop in and we came down from Hollywood to try it out. When you walk in you are automatically taken by the elegance of the room. It's very romantic. Like we had hoped, the food was amazing. Beyond our expectations really. We started with the mussels and the foie gras and moved on to the lamb and the tenderloin.

Everything was cooked to perfection with the freshest of ingredients. Our waiter recommended an excellent bottle of wine that paired flawlessly with our meal. We couldn't have been more pleased. The prices are not for the faint of heart, but you are definitely paying for the experience not just the meat and vegetables. We would recommend this place to everyone and we'll be back next month to try more of the menu.
