Tantra
1445 Pennsylvania Avenue
Miami Beach, FL 33139

Sacred
sensuality is the self-proclaimed name of the game at this "restaurant,"
although theres nothing sacred about Tantra.
First, theres the obscure
aphrodisiac menu of exotic delicacies, designed to get you in the mood. Then theres
the pillow strewn dining room (with hookah pipes placed on the tables) and lighting so
diffused, it really cant be categorized as light as all.
Then theres the
curiously sculpted crowd of regulars who either a) have the most phenomenal genes
imaginable, b) take advantage of the many diet and feel-good products out there on the
"market" today, c) dont have to work thanks to the trust fund and spend
most days at the David Barton Gym and
Delano pool, or d) all of the above.
So
this
is how the other half lives. No, you arent likely to bump into Dave from accounting
here, but youre not going to find anyone whos come for stimulating
conversation, either. So go all out. Reserve a table on the floor, share your foie gras
and caviar with beautiful strangers and join the pillars of Miamis hedonist society.
This is just the sort of degenerate behavior that has made South Beach a destination point
of choice to anyone looking for something
..sinful.
Have you tried
Tantra?

Review: My
husband brought me for Valentines day. The food was awesome. The dessert
not so much, but they had balloons for me and it was a very nice
experience. The place is really nice and love the music. |

Review: I
loved everything about this place, from the outside it doesn't look all
that, but once they sit u down for dinner its a totally different
experience. I love the atmosphere and the people, very different from
other restaurants here in Miami. the food was a little expensive but
great and so was the music. I'm definitely visiting the place again, I
recommend you to go on a Monday and stay for the nightclub, I assure
you, that you'll like it. |

Review: Tantra:
Nothing more than a one night stand.
Yes, the decor was interesting, but
when I go out to a restaurant, its for the food. My scallop, which was a
special that night, wasn't impressive. I was composed of common flavors
I had seen a million times before. When I place my order, I asked the
server that a glass of saturn came out with my second course foie. Well
it took 12 min for the dish to come out of the kitchen. It was over
cooked- dead on the plate- and barely warm- on its way to being ice
cold. It took another 3- 4 min for my wine to arrive as well. My bass as
an entree was cooked perfectly, unfortunately, the bouquette of veg was
ice cold. As a chef myself, I can't imagine letting plates like these
leave the kitchen. Furthermore, my server added on her our gratuity.
When I asked why, she said a lot of tourists don't tip well. I guess I,
a single well dressed women sparing no expense on my meal, looked like a
cheap tipper. I informed her if it was up to me I would have left her
more. oh, and I was never! offered coffee with my dessert. Hum |

Review: I
visited Tantra with two colleagues while attending a professional
convention in Miami. The restaurant had been recommended to me by an
acquaintance who worked as a hostess there many years ago.
Our waiter and bus person were
attentive, yet reserved. They did fine jobs helping us make our meal
selections. The ambience was different. It felt like an aged attempt to
create the tropics with faux greenery; however, the food was fantastic!
My all-vegetarian dish was light yet danced on my taste buds leaving a
marvelous food memory (which is a tough thing to achieve). My mates
spoke highly of their meat and fish dishes. We chose to top off the meal
by sharing a chocolate mousse topped with an orchid. I didn't think that
my main dish could be bettered, but the dessert did the job. It melted
in my mouth and felt exotic while totally reminding me of being in mom's
kitchen as a child enjoying her freshly baked goods warm from the oven.
The price was a little high, but the experience was well worth it. |

Review: Apps
and entrees were all good but overpriced even by Sobe standards. A
sensual ambiance makes up for that, though. The restaurant's transition
to club at 11pm is smooth, with a nice dance mix and pounding live
percussion. A proper dance floor would help, and maybe a more
party-hungry crowd, but overall a fun time and worth a visit. |

was way overpriced. Menus item are common, nothing
exotic as I expected. On top of that, my lamb came cold in a cold

Review: For
dinner is a good place but I highly suggest staying for the party on
Saturdays, they turn the restaurant into a
club, the crowd is great the ladies are high class hotties and the
drinks are fairly priced. good place for singles to mingle. |

Review: Worst
experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Food was OK at best and way
overpriced. Wait-staff was rude and asked us
to leave 30 seconds after we paid the bill. Would not recommend it to
anyone for any reason. |
