A former swimming champion and triathlete, Silva has over 15 years of training experience. He is the creator of the wildly popular “Pump-n-Tone”™ and “Indoor Triathlon”™ classes and holds full certifications as a Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant by the ACE; Fitness Instructor by the ACE; Personal Fitness Trainer certified by ACE, ISSA, AFAA; and Spinning Instructor by “Johnny G” and Cycle Reebok. David’s training philosophy can be broken down into three main segments. Balance, Variety and Feel. When training, Silva believes that it is vital to work the entire body, not just specific muscle groups. “I train my clients in a balanced fashion to achieve a balanced physique.” His training method focuses symmetry and developing your body into an amazing example of what a human body should look like.
The body thrives on change and diversity. Variety is a key element in keeping people motivated to continue training with vision and enthusiasm. Over the years, David has developed an armory of exercises for each body part, tried and tested movements that are of the best quality. Every exercise performed "hits" the body in a different aspect to every muscle group. "By changing an angle of a bench, or steering our weight through a different arc, you can stimulate new areas into growth," says Silva. "The major component of my personal training philosophy can best be summarized by the word feel," the whole point of working-out is 'muscular contraction,' if you don't feel the muscle, you can't grow the muscle". Silva utilizes appropriate weights determined by body mass and fitness to open up the muscle-mind pathways and foster an awareness of muscle contraction points. "It is the amalgamation of Balance, Variety, and Feel coupled with the techniques and supervision of a certified trainer that will give one the method to attain the most proportionate and perfectly developed body possible."
