Established in Montreal in 1972 as a lease
department inside a popular Canadian department store, the brand did not
venture into stand alone shops in the United States until 1993. By 2011,
ALDO's 1,000 outlets in 65 countries sell trend-right footwear for men
and women plus a full line of handbags, wallets, scarves and jewelry.
With sales plans based on quick turnover, the design teams roll out
frequent updates which encourages stores to mark down most of the
inventory to keep up with the fast fashion trends.
While many of ALDO's most popular shoes resemble the
styles shown on big-name designer runways, their pricing is closer to
fashion retailers H&M or Zara who specialize in bargainista looks for
less! Current collections are grouped into categories like "Endless
Summer, Global Bazaar and Future Perfect," combining soft colors,
earthtones and beaded accents for maximum effect. Oversized handbags and
celebrity look-alike sunglasses are ideal for a day at the beach or an
afternoon sipping mojitos somewhere shady on Ocean Drive.
