In a long, minimalist room on Lincoln Road, the
walls are lined with artwork – but not the kind you’ll hang beside
your family portrait. Howard Austin Feld is known worldwide for his
digital nude photos, which are reprinted with different inks to
create remarkable color affects. Most photos in the gallery are not
innately vulgar but the studio walls boast a generous amount of full
nudity. Other prints are more risqué, which can be viewed on the
website and should be off-limits to kids. In-store prints start at
$25; in-store artwork may be up $1200, says a store employee.
Catalogues are available in the gallery and shipping is available
for larger pieces. It’s not a kid’s hangout and you might not find a
household piece but the gallery’s unique art is engaging
nonetheless. |
