Zara Lincoln Road Miami Beach

ZARA - Lincoln Road

The fashion press is abuzz this week with news that Spanish retailer ZARA plans to build a 2-story 26,000 square foot flagship shop inside one of Lincoln Road Malls most iconic Art Deco buildings in December. South Beach's popular shopping district, Lincoln Road Mall brims with a full roster of top name designers and more intimate venues for resort-ready looks. As more and more visitors make a South Beach vacation part of their plans, the world's most recognizable outfitters are snapping up prime real estate on Lincoln Road and Collins Avenue to establish a foothold in America's favorite seaside playground.

ZARA has already made quite a splash in South Florida with their right-from-the-runway replicas selling like hotcakes at area malls. While Lincoln Road's sartorial offerings recently expanded to include large format shops for fast-fashion brands H&M and Forever 21, ZARA was noticibly absent from the pedestrian friendly promenade. Showcasing more tailored looks for men and women, the global brand currently has nearly 50 shops in the United States and over 1,750 stores worldwide.

PR Newswire reports that ZARA struck a deal to build within the landmark Art Deco 420 Lincoln Building, the largest single property on Lincoln Road at Washington Avenue on South Beach. The shop will anchor the eastern entrance to the esplanade which was closed to cars to facilitate a more pleasurable pedestrian experience. Overlooking the busy intersection, the 420 Building features classic Deco rounded glass windows that accent the gleaming facade and will serve as a dazzling showcase for ZARA's seasonal fashion presentations. The large scale shop will include clothing and accessories for the entire family.

Lamys Guerrero, Vice President of 420 Lincoln Road Associates, advocates maintaining the building's historic integrity. He believes, "ZARA's choosing 420 Lincoln Road as home for its Miami flagship is a testament to the significance of the property." Current tenants of the property include Starbucks, Sunglass Hut and the bakeshop PAUL. Lincoln Road Mall attracts more than 13 million visitors annually and serves as a catalyst for the economic interests of area hotels, restaurants and myriad small businesses. The addition of this large and popular retailer adds luster to an already successful commercial district and brings more jobs to the local community.
